After the successfully merge of the two national design associations, the board launched the new name Design denmark and presented the new visual identity for the members and press. Founding partner of 3X Jesper von Wieding is a member of the board.

Design Awards 2014

Denmark's three strongest housing and design magazines, BO BEDRE, Costume Living and Bolig Magasinet, has come together in organizing this years product Design Awards 2014. This years jury was represented by: Anne-Louise Sommer CEO designmuseum, Uffe Buchard CEO grenaabuchard, Erik Rimmer Editor BoBedre, Anette Eckmann CEO Eckmann Studio, Helle Blok Editor Bolig Magazinet and Jesper von Wieding Co-Founder and Strategic Creative Director of 3X.

The winners will be announced in medio September.

Rectangular Offset Lamp - Wood Series

Our friends at TRIDI has designed and developed a new rectangular offset lamp in ash wood veneer with matt white or black spray finished and white fabric shade.

At the annual meeting in Tivoli Congress Center, The Danish Investment Fund, Vækstfonden, offered the paticipents to be the first to taste their VÆKST Beer.

The new VÆKST beer is in production at Randers Micro Brewhouse, Denmark. The beer is designed by 3X and the first in line soon to be offered by The Danish Investment Fund, Vækstfonden.

Joseph Foo speaks at TEDx Chiangmai, Thailand

Joseph, co-founder of 3X & 3nity speaks in TEDx Chiangmai recently on the movement of giving.

"It is more blessed to give than to receive' is a movement created by 3nity for Oloiya, a popular BBQ dried meat brand in Malaysia. inline with one of the company's three brand pillars, the idea of giving hope to remind people that this Chinese new year, instead of receiving all the goodness & fortunes and keeping it to ourselves, we hope to bless our friends & needy by giving in whichever way we can."

Starting from the community in Petaling Street (China Town, KL), activities of giving were planned and laid out consistently over two months prior to Chinese new year in different part of the country with different acts of giving (partnering with fruits stall owner, ice-cream seller, Spring Festival couplets' calligrapher, BBQ dried meat company etc). All these activities were documented in form of video spread across social media with positive responses.

The campaign identity is based on typographic treatment of inspirational quotes of giving. These were then used on newspaper ads, Facebook posts, environmental art (were painted on building/public places creatively across the country). An active Facebook page is created for people to share their stories of giving or photos of the environmental art and activities.

As a result, the movement of giving has given a new perspective to Chinese community of celebrating Chinese New year, as for Oloiya, by spending less than their previous year advertising budget, their sales increase enormously, and most of all, through this movement of giving, the brand is able to put their brand values into practice and it inspires the Chinese community.

Currently, as a continuation of this movement, we hope to inspire others to be a part of this movement by initiating their own activities of giving. This year on the 15th of September, Petaling Street will hold an event that will set an example of how this movement can be widely spread. The key to the event is the willingness of the people from Petaling Street to show that giving is not only about money but can also be about contributing their time and talent.

I'mperfect stand wins gold at the ECO-B expo

I'mperfect powered by 3X won the gold medal for the best stand design at this years ECO-B exhibition in Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

Today the Kuala Lumpur team and partners of 3X opened the I'MPERFECT exhibition at the annual ECO-B exhibition in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Founding partner Eddy Yu from Hong Kong had been invited by the organizers to hold a lecture about the I'MPERFECT movement our design for social innovation commitment. Eddy presented our social innovation projects and launched our newest IMPERFECT project in collaboration with Orna Paper.

Tobias Wandrup receives a reddot design award for his Edge knives

Fiskars Edge knife series has garnered red dot design award for product design for 2013 in the Kitchen section. The Edge knife series was designed by Danish designer, Tobias Wandrup, whose Functional Form knife series already won the Red Dot design award in 2006. 

The red dot jury explains: "The distinctive choice for a modern kitchen – Fiskars Edge  The new Fiskars Edge range is a modern take on perhaps the most essential tool in any kitchen. Its progressive edgy look follows the strong trend of sleek, fully black design. The range of seven knives combine influences from both Eastern and Western kitchens while the distinctive black coating on the blades offers high resistance against corrosion and makes them easy to clean and maintain. For the new knife range, Wandrup searched for a form that is modern, universal and genuinely Fiskars. 

Speaking about his latest creation, he said: “I think this knife 4 range has a certain pride of being a true Fiskars product, it has simplicity and energy. I want to make things for Fiskars that are truly Fiskars, but also stretch the brand to new limits. Fiskars does have the courage to take the brand further, and this series is a good example of that.”

The I’MPERFECT project and movement, powered by 3X, has just been shortlisted in Denmark, at the Creative Circle Award. The I’MPERFECT movement was ”kick-started” in Asia, the heart of consumer goods production, and is spreading rapidly to Europe and the rest of the world. I’MPERFECT movement encourages appreciation of imperfection in the objects we use and the people around us - as well as in ourselves! Through partnerships around the globe, we work to consciously improve the use of our limited resources and promote people relationships to create a greener and more harmonious world.

Creative Circle Award 2013 - jury day!


16 of the most awarded designers in Denmark was brought together for a long day to vote for Shortlist, Gold, Silver or Bronze, at this year Creative Circle Award 2013. 

Jonathan Ford from Pearlfisher, was invited as this years international represented in the design jury. Jesper von Wieding from 3X was President of the Design Jury.

‘My Penang, My Experience’ is an advertising campaign organized by Penang’s tourism arm – Penang Global Tourism. The initial launch was done in Singapore in various public spots like MRT stations and public bus posters.

‘My Penang, My Experience’ is a campaign that portraits the nostalgic and cultural side of the state – stately colonial buildings, a melting pot of east-west fashion and a friendly population to welcome visitors.

This campaign is co-developed with associate partner Mr Richard Hsu from H+, Shanghai.

Healthy products from 'New Life'


Project: Packaging Design for New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association
Retail of healthy food is one of the many social enterprise businesses New Life operates. Our task was to upgrade the packaging image for selected products. In addition, we brand the products differently; generating new names, repositioning the target market and sorting out the features of each brand. Finally each of them gets a customized packaging design.
