Located in the Prince of Wales Hospital in Shatin, Hong Kong, Cafe330 is one of the social enterprises of New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association, which provides real job opportunities for people in recovery of mental illness, with a goal of their full integration and acceptance in the community.
Operated under a financially self-sustained principal, the Association was well aware of how design could help sharpen the competitive edge of the cafe and sought our support. With a very limited budget, we utilized the resource of CoLab, our arm for social design projects, by collaborating with Trilingual, a team of young and talented designers we recruited through the platform of CoLab. Started from naming, we developed the whole visual identity including logo, packaging, place mat and uniform. We also invited After School / Pokit as our project partner who was responsible for shop interior design, while we worked on the signage and environmental graphic. With the warm and decent service as well as delicious food freshly produced every day, the café is very welcome and the sales of the café reached the target in the first month of it.
